Twisters Golden at Lower Lake’s Final Four

The 2017/18 season was the most successful season the North Halton Novice A Twisters have had in NHGHA history. The Twisters started off the season with a pre-season series against Stoney Creek where they set the tone for the season, following their two game series the Twisters entered the Oakville Hornets Fall Classic where they won all 5 games to pick up their first championship banner of the season in a 9-1 championship win over Nepean! Following their first tournament win they entered Lower Lakes regular season play for the month of October where they picked up 5 wins and outscored their opponents 43 to 2. As the calendar turned to November the team ramped up for their second tournament of the season at RIM Park in Waterloo! The Waterloo Fall Challenge cup was a success for the team as they accomplished their goal of bringing home yet another Championship title, this time downing Whitby 7-3 in the final. The second month of regular season play only saw the Twisters play 4 games, where they continued their so far perfect season picking up another 28 goals. December was a busy month for the Novice A squad as they played in yet another tournament along with playing 7 more regular season games where they brought home the Whitby tournament of Heroes title. As the calendar changed to 2018 the squad continued their winning ways ending the regular season with an undefeated record where they claimed the fourth gold medal of the season. February was a slower month for the team as they earned a spot in Lower Lakes final four championship weekend by finishing in first place overall. This saw the team take on an exhibition series in Nepean where they again picked up 3 wins. In March the team had a busy schedule as they won the Leaside March Break Madness tournament and the Lower Lakes final four title. As this month came around the team was prepared to take part in the OWHA Provincial Championship in the GTA. The team went 4 and 1 unfortunately dropping their first game of the season in the championship match.
